Will there be an ATM on the grounds?
Yes. We will have an ATM at Gates A, H, & 3, in the Capital Farm Credit Display Building, AEP Texas Big Country Hall, AEL Round Building, and Taylor Telecom Arena.
Bad Weather
What happens if there is bad weather?
If lightning is present, the Parade, Matched Horse Races, Dances and Cowboy Poetry & Music are subject to being cancelled. However please check our website, Facebook page, or give us a call 325-677-4376 to verify.

What is included in a grounds pass? (Depends on schedules events for the day)
Admission onto the grounds to: shop at the trade show, listen to the Cowboy Music, Poetry, and Fiddlers Contest, watch the Cowdog Demonstration & Horse Clinic, browse the Bit & Spur show, watch the Children's activities and Horse Sale, and cheer at the Matched Horse Races. A Grounds Pass does NOT give you access to the Ranch Rodeo, Chuckwagon Lunch, or the concert/dances.
What is included in a Ranch Rodeo ticket?
Admission to the Ranch Rodeo for that night and serves as a grounds pass for the same day as well.
The Friday Ranch Rodeo ticket will also serve as your admission ticket to the concert in Guitar Arena for Friday night only.
When do tickets go on sale?
If you purchased a Ranch Rodeo ticket within the last five (5) years for the Western Heritage Classic you will have the first opportunity to purchase tickets. We will send out a ticket order form to members of the WHC Fan Club at the beginning of the year.
If you have not purchased tickets within the last five (5) years for the Ranch Rodeo, tickets will be available to purchase mid-April.
How can I purchase tickets?
Option 1 - Fill out and mail in WHC Fan Club ticket order form, if you have purchased tickets in the last five years.
Option 2 - via phone at 325-677-4376 with a credit/debit card on/after April 15.
Option 3 - online with a credit/debit card, cash, check, or money order on/after April 15.
Where To Stay?
We are coming from out of town, are there hotels available and how far in advance should we make our reservation?
Western Heritage Classic is held the same weekend as the college graduations and Mother’s Day weekend some years. We suggest you make your reservations at least a year in advance.

Does the Expo Center of Taylor County have RV spaces and hookups?
Yes! We have 30 and 50 amp hookups. Hookups are available for guest who live outside of a 50 mile radius of Abilene. These spots go fast so make sure to get your reservations in quickly. For more details and to reserve, please call 325-677-4376. NO sewer hookups for WHC, as they are reserved for the ranches and guests. 2024 Spots are SOLD OUT
What Else Do I Need To Know?
Can I bring a cooler?
No outside coolers are allowed at Western Heritage Classic. Drinks are available to purchase inside the gates.
Pets?
There is a NO DOG POLICY at the Western Heritage Classic and Expo Center of Taylor County. Service animals must stay on a leash with their partner at all times. Dogs are not allowed in campers or horse trailers.
Shuttles & Accessibility
Expo Center of Taylor County Board Members and volunteers will be driving courtesy carts around the parking lot to pick up patrons. All buildings and facility grounds are ADA-accessible and there are ramps in the Taylor Telecom Arena and Guitar Arena. There are a handful of Expo Center-owned wheelchairs in case of emergencies.
